The door construction of the Polaris Gun Safe is made up of two layers of 12-gauge steel, with fireboard in between, and a 12-gauge inner steel door plate. This heavy-duty construction makes it nearly impossible for anyone to break into the safe.

The bolt work is horizontal and vertical, with 1-1/2" diameter chrome-plated bolts. There are three active bolts up and three active bolts down and eight active bolts vertically left, with an additional eight deadbolts vertically on the right side.
